David Meardon has lived and worked on beautiful Sanibel Island, Florida as a professional photographer since 1981. He uses his camera and creative eye to capture the unique beauty of the islands and surrounding area. A graduate of Oberlin College, he began his career as a photojournalist, first with his hometown Providence Journal, followed by the Sanibel-Captiva Islander.

David is a well-known nature photographer with work appearing in National Geographic video, The Oprah Magazine, and numerous books, magazines, and calendars. He has won photographic awards in editorial, advertising, and wildlife categories. David is the recipient of the 2005 Island of the Arts award presented by the Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce and was voted 2007 Best of the Islands Gold Award for best photographer.

David focuses on family portrait photography, events, corporate conventions, and fine art photography. His images are available as cards and prints online, as well as in numerous shops and galleries in the Sanibel-Captiva area.
